Our Story
Launching Minds Academy was founded with a clear purpose: to equip students with the skills they need to succeed not only in school, but in life. While traditional education plays an important role in building academic knowledge, many students benefit from additional guidance in developing practical skills that support real-world success.
Skills such as leadership, financial literacy, decision-making, communication, and personal responsibility are essential for future readiness, yet they are often underrepresented in traditional coursework. Launching Minds Academy was created to help bridge that gap through engaging enrichment experiences that extend beyond the classroom.
Our academies are intentionally designed to support students during key developmental years, helping them build confidence, strengthen judgment, and develop transferable skills that support academic, personal, and future success. Through small-group, instructor-led virtual learning, Launching Minds Academy empowers students to grow as capable, independent learners who are prepared to navigate the opportunities and responsibilities ahead.
Our Mission & Philosophy
Launching Minds Academy empowers students in grades 6-12 to learn with purpose, lead with confidence, and thrive in life. Through engaging virtual enrichment academies, students develop financial literacy, leadership skills, essential life skills, and future readiness through meaningful learning experiences that extend beyond traditional academics.
We believe that leadership, financial literacy, personal responsibility, and sound decision-making are foundational skills that help students succeed both in school and in life. While academic achievement is important, true readiness for the future requires growth that is academic, personal, and practical.
Our approach emphasizes purposeful learning, real-world application, and personal growth, helping students build confidence, develop independence, and take ownership of their future. Through structured guidance, discussion, reflection, and practical experiences, Launching Minds Academy helps students develop the mindset, habits, and skills needed for lifelong success.

Founder & Lead Instructor
Dr. Kahmran P. Abrahams is an experienced educator and educational leader with nearly two decades of service in Miami-Dade County Public Schools. He holds a Doctor of Education in Leadership and Management from St. Thomas University, a Master of Education in Social Studies Education, and a Bachelor of Arts in History from the University of Central Florida.
In addition to his academic credentials, Dr. Abrahams has completed specialized training in financial literacy, personal finance, economics, and leadership development through institutions including Columbia University, the University of Central Florida, and the Foundation for Teaching Economics.
Throughout his career, Dr. Abrahams has served students through classroom instruction, school leadership, mentoring, curriculum development, and district-level educational leadership. These experiences inspired the creation of Launching Minds Academy.
Recognizing that many students need greater opportunities to develop practical life skills beyond traditional academics, Dr. Abrahams founded Launching Minds Academy to help students strengthen leadership, financial literacy, personal responsibility, decision-making, and future readiness.
As Founder and Lead Instructor, he designs and facilitates academy experiences that emphasize purpose, structure, mentorship, and real-world application, helping students build the confidence and skills needed for success in school and beyond.
