Our Enrichment Model
Launching Minds Academy offers live, instructor‑led virtual enrichment programs designed to support students in developing real‑world skills that extend beyond traditional coursework. Programs are delivered in small cohorts and emphasize engagement, discussion, and practical application.
All programs are offered as non‑credit, elective enrichment experiences and are designed to complement a wide range of educational pathways.
Families participating in the Florida Step Up for Students Personalized Education Program (PEP) may use scholarship funds for eligible enrichment services offered by Launching Minds Academy.
Money Matters: Financial Literacy Foundations
Grades: 6–8
This course introduces middle school students to essential financial concepts that support responsible decision‑making and everyday money management. Through interactive discussion and age‑appropriate scenarios, students explore how financial choices impact goals, responsibilities, and future opportunities.
Students will:
Distinguish between needs and wants
Create and explain a basic personal budget
Understand saving strategies and goal setting
Recognize foundational banking concepts
Explore how financial decisions affect short‑ and long‑term outcomes
Future Finances: Real-World Money Skills
Grades: 9–12
Designed for high school students, this course focuses on real‑world financial readiness and practical money management. Students explore budgeting, banking, credit awareness, and consumer responsibility as they prepare for life after graduation.
Students will:
Develop a realistic personal budget
Understand checking and savings accounts
Analyze responsible and irresponsible uses of credit
Identify common financial risks and scams
Connect financial planning to post‑secondary and career goals
Lead the Way: Leadership & Life Skills Lab
Grades: 7–12
This interactive enrichment lab focuses on leadership development and essential life skills. Through structured discussion, reflection, and real‑world scenarios, students strengthen confidence, communication, self‑management, and decision‑making skills.
Students will:
Build goal‑setting and accountability skills
Practice effective communication and collaboration
Apply ethical decision‑making strategies
Identify leadership strengths and growth areas
Strengthen time management and self‑discipline
Pathways & Purpose: College & Career Readiness Lab
Grades: 8–11
This course supports students as they explore academic, career, and workforce pathways aligned to their personal interests and strengths. Through guided discussion and real‑world exploration, students examine how education, training, and financial planning connect to future goals and opportunities.
Students will:
Identify personal interests, strengths, and career preferences
Explore multiple post‑secondary and career pathways
Understand how education and training impact future opportunities
Build foundational resume awareness and skill‑mapping strategies
Develop a personal short‑ and long‑term planning framework
Enrollment Information
Program availability, enrollment periods, and approved pricing are managed through the Florida Step Up for Students Education Market Assistant (EMA) platform.
Families should review course details and complete enrollment through EMA in accordance with Step Up scholarship guidelines.
